ITV Racing

If you are a racing fan, you will have heard of ITV Racing, the racing programme created by ITV Sport. The programme is for horse races on ITV1 and ITV4, televising races staged at UK and Irish courses. The programme is known as Racing on STV in Northern Ireland and Central Scotland on STV. Older racing fans will fondly remember it being a prominent part of World of Sport, which ran from 1965 to 1985 on ITV.

The channel boasts a whole variety of races, including iconic meetings such as Grand National, Cheltenham Festival, Epsom Derby, Royal Ascot, and Glorious Goodwood, as well as more low-key meetings. ITV Racing also produces The Opening Show, a morning preview not too dissimilar to The Morning Line.

ITV Racing is best known for two things: being the home of Free to Air coverage of Horse Racing and the ITV 7. The ITV7 is a free-to-play game from ITV in association with SkyBet where fans are invited to predict the winners of 7 races, all of which are televised on ITV Racing. Each week, ITV7 puts a £50000 jackpot on the table, with all seven race predictions needed to be correct for the jackpot to be issued. In the event that there is no outright winner, the entrant who makes the most accurate prediction will receive a consolation prize.
