BETTING.BET Eider Chase 2024 to be Shown Live on ITV Racing

Newcastle & Kempton showcase high level jumps racing on ITV on the 24th February 2024

February 24th 2024 will see the return of the much-celebrated BETTING.BET Eider Chase, a challenging handicap race founded in 1952. Held at Newcastle Racecourse, the 26-fence race covers 4 miles plus half a furlong and is widely thought of as a trial for the Grand National. 2008 saw Comply Or Die win both races, and it's about time the event produced another strong Aintree competitor.

In 2023, Kitty's Light romped home in first place, ridden by Jockey Jack Tudor. As well as helping racing fans gear up for the Grand National, the race is also a good indicator of what horses will triumph in other key events on the horse racing calendar. After winning last year's Eider Chase Kitty's Light went on to win the Scottish Grand National and the bet365 Gold Cup the same year.

The Eider Chase is the feature race of the Eider Chase Day, with the National Hunt racing meeting comprising seven races over the course of the day, meaning plenty of action for racing fans! For 2024, Newcastle Racecourse has named online betting aggregator betting.bet as the event's "Principle Racing Partner". ITV Racing will be broadcasting the event live, offering commentary and analysis.

There is also racing at Kempton on February 24th, which racing lovers can watch live on ITV Racing. Kempton will host Coral Trophy Day, which is a seven-race card featuring four graded races, one of which is the Coral Trophy Handicap Steeple Chase.
